Troisième et dernier jour passé à Berlin, dimanche.
La dernière fois que nous sommes allés à Berlin, en décembre 2009, mon copain et moi avions a-do-ré le quartier de Prenzlauer Berg et y sommes retournés pour nos dernières heures dans la ville, avant de décoller pour rentrer à Paris.
Nous sommes descendus à la station de métro Eberswalder Straße pour faire toute la Kastanienalle.
Tous les magasins étaient fermés (tant pis pour moi, mais tant mieux pour mon porte-monnaie!) mais pas mal de cafés étaient ouverts et pleins à craquer. Ambiance très « BoBo » en plein Berlin, sous une tempête de neige!
Les températures étaient toujours aussi négatives, mais peut-être était-ce l’urgence de profiter à fond de ces dernier instants dans cette ville unique et atypique : j’ai moins souffert du froid que les autres jours.
Une dernière balade dans la ville, armés de nos appareils photos respectifs, que nous nous sommes échangés pour le fun (lui avait mon Nikon D40X + objectif à focale fixe 50mm 1,4 et moi son Lumix GF2 avec objectif grand angle).

The third and  last day spent in Berlin, Sunday.
Last time when we went to Berlin, in December, 2009, my boyfriend and I had adored the district of Prenzlauer Berg and returned to it for our last hours in the city, before taking off to Paris.
We came down to the subway station Eberswalder Straße to walk along all Kastanienalle. 
All the stores were closed (too bad for me, but so much better for my purse!) but quite a lot of cafés were opened and crowded. Very « BOHO » atmosphere in Berlin, under a snowstorm! 
The temperatures were still so negative, but maybe it was the urgency to take advantage completely of these last one pressing in this unique and atypical city : I suffered less from the cold than the other days.
A last stroll in the city, armed with our respective camera, that we exchanged for the fun (he had my Nikon D40X + 50mm 1,4 lens and I had his Lumix GF2 with wide-angle lens).

Deuxième jour, un soleil éclatant mais des températures bien négatives…
Emmitouflés comme des esquimaux, nous avons filé en métro jusqu’au quartier de Kreuzberg, puis avons marché jusqu’au quartier de Friedrichshain. Nous avons suivi un itinéraire « tout tracé » par le guide Evasion (éditions Hachette), qui nous a fait successivement admirer la façade en ruine de l’ex plus grande gare de la ville, Anhalter Bahnof (depuis cette seule gare, près de 10 000 juifs ont été déportés dès 1942 vers Auschhwitz), le musée-exposition « Topographie de la terreur », Checkpoint Charlie…
Un itinéraire en forme de mémorial de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.
Très émouvant.
 
The second day, shining sun but very negative temperatures…
Wrapped up as Eskimoes, we went in subway to the district of Kreuzberg, then walked to the district of  Friedrichshain. We followed an « already made » route by the guide Escape (Hachette editions), which made us successively admire the ruined facade of the ex bigger station of the city, Anhalter Bahnof (since this only station, about 10 000 Jews from 1942 were deported to Auschhwitz), the museum-exhibition « Topography of terror », Checkpoint Charlie…

En fin de journée, nous sommes allés voir la East Side Gallery = le morceau du mur  d’1,3 km qui longe le Spree.
Une véritable galerie d’art à ciel ouvert de la Mülenstraße, oeuvre de 118 artistes venus de 21 pays.
Un incroyable mémorial réalisé en janvier 1990.

At the end of the day, we visited the East Side Gallery = the piece of the 1,3 km wall which follows the Spree.
A real open-air art gallery of Mülenstraße, work of 118 artists coming from 21 countries.
An incredible memorial realized in January, 1990. Pour l’apéro et le dîner, l’endroit qui a retenu notre attention, c’est le Tiki Heart Café dans la Wienerstraße 20.
Ambiance Hawaïenne, service adorable et dynamique, musique au top, bouffe et cocktail yummy….Bref, une super soirée !

For the apéritif and the dinner, the place which caught our attention is Tiki Heart Café in Wienerstraße 20.
Hawaiian atmosphere, adorable and dynamic service(department), excellent music, food and yummy cocktail(cocktail party)….In brief, a great evening!
